Who should skip it

• Probably not the best fit for people who want a drag-and-drop page builder.

What it costs

Prices checked October 31, 2026, from DIYthemes’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

• Focus for 5 sites: $87/year.
• Focus for 20 sites: $187/year.
• Larger organizations: $297/year.
• Every license includes updates, forum access and email support.

What we like

• Long history (Thesis since 2008).
• 5 sites at the entry price.
• Updates and support included.
• Simple, speed-focused design, it says.

What to watch for

• Few outside reviews.
• Renews every year.
• Old lifetime licenses ended in 2023.
• Smaller community than the biggest themes.

The fine print

• Thesis lifetime licenses expired on September 30, 2023; check its license page if you own an old one.
• Licenses renew yearly; cancel before renewal if you no longer need updates.
• Legitimacy signals we found: DIYthemes was founded by Chris Pearson; it sold the Thesis theme from 2008 to 2019 and calls it the first million-dollar WordPress theme; it says 7,762 sites have activated Thesis keys since 2019.

The main alternative: GeneratePress Checked by Vetteroo

GeneratePress is a popular lightweight WordPress theme with yearly and lifetime plans.

What it costs: $99/year (1 site); $149/year (10 sites); $199/year or $596 lifetime (100 sites)
