We researched Kombai's official pricing, terms, product pages, help pages and outside reviews. We haven't used Kombai ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.
Who it’s best for
- Frontend developers who want an agent that reuses their own components, tokens and design system.
- Designers and founders who want to explore several page designs before any code is written.
- Teams turning Figma files into React or other frontend code.
Who should skip it
- Probably not the best fit for non-coders who want a finished, hosted app from a chat prompt, or for backend-heavy projects.

What we like
- A real free plan (300 credits a month) to test it before paying.
- Built for frontend work: it reads your repo, Storybook and npm packages and reuses existing components.
- Works inside VS Code and Cursor or as a desktop app on macOS, Windows and Linux.
- Product Hunt shows 4.7 out of 5 from 12 reviews, with praise for clean, compile-ready code (checked October 31, 2026).
What to watch for
- Credit-based pricing makes heavy months hard to predict; you may need a higher Pro tier or top-ups.
- Its terms say fees paid are non-refundable.
- Some reviewers mention imperfect visual fidelity, font mismatches and weaker multi-page workflows.
- Independent reviews are still few (12 on Product Hunt); its "700K+ installs" and benchmark gains are its own claims.
The fine print
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same term unless cancelled, per its terms.
- Its terms are governed by California law.
- Kombai uses outside AI models; Pro and higher plans say your data is not used for AI training.
- Code it writes still needs your review before it ships.
- Legitimacy signals we found: its terms name Kombai, Inc.; TechCrunch and The Economic Times reported a $4.5 million seed round in August 2023 led by Stellaris Venture Partners and Foundation Capital; it was founded in 2022 by former Mindtickle executives Dipanjan Dey and Abhijit Bhole; it says it is SOC 2 compliant.

Lovable is an AI app builder that creates and hosts full web apps from a chat, aimed at non-coders as well as developers.
What it costs: Free plan; Pro from $25/month (100 credits), checked October 31, 2026
