What it is

AI competitor briefs: paste a public competitor URL and get its positioning, likely customers, pricing, features and gaps

How it works

Paste a competitor's homepage or pricing page (and optionally your own site for a short "vs you" contrast), pick a focus such as pricing or messaging, and get a structured brief in minutes that you can copy as Markdown or export as a PDF. Come back later and brief the same rival again to see what changed.

Seen on RivalBrief’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read November 1, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used RivalBrief ourselves.

Key features

  • Full competitor brief for 1 credit
  • Pricing-only snapshot for half a credit, stamped with the date
  • "What changed since last time" comparison
  • Optional "vs your product" contrast
  • Focus on pricing, features, messaging or likely customers
  • Markdown copy and branded PDF export

Setup & learning curve

Nothing to install: paste a URL on the site to use your free credit, then pick a plan through Stripe if you want more.

Integrations

None listed; briefs export as Markdown or PDF.

Support

Email support for paid plans (async); no calls or custom research.

Real-world use cases

  • Checking a rival's pricing before changing your own
  • Writing a positioning or launch plan
  • Building a quick competitor battlecard
  • Watching a competitor's plans and prices for changes

What it costs

$29/mo for 15 briefs, checked November 1, 2026

Prices checked November 1, 2026, from RivalBrief’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • Free: 1 trial credit for life (1 credit = 1 full brief), no card needed, with the full brief, Markdown copy and a branded PDF export.
  • Starter: $29 a month for 15 credits a month, with PDF export and email support.
  • Builder: $49 a month for 40 credits a month, everything in Starter, aimed at weekly competitor checks.
  • A pricing-only check (just a rival's plans and prices, with the date captured) costs half a credit.
  • Monthly plans only, billed through Stripe and cancelable anytime in the billing portal; prices in USD and checkout shows the final total (official pricing, checked October 31, 2026).

What we like

  • Cheap and simple: one free brief, then $29 a month for 15 briefs, with no calls or sales process.
  • Each brief follows the same clear structure: snapshot, messaging, likely customers, pricing, features, strengths and gaps, and 3 to 5 ideas to act on.
  • Labels guesses as guesses and lists its sources and confidence, which makes it easier to check.
  • Re-run a competitor later and it shows what changed in their plans, prices, headline and features.

What to watch out for

  • Brand new: sample briefs are dated October 2026, and we found no independent user reviews yet.
  • It reads only up to two public pages per brief, so anything not on a rival's homepage or pricing page can be missed.
  • Output is AI-written and may be incomplete or wrong; RivalBrief itself says to verify key numbers on the source site.
  • Change tracking is tied to the same browser (or your paid account), and its privacy policy is labeled a stub for its early version; we found no separate terms of service page.

The fine print

  • The free trial is one credit per person for life; RivalBrief stores a one-way hash of your IP address and network range to stop repeat free trials.
  • Page text you submit is sent to an outside AI provider to write the brief; do not submit private or login-protected pages.
  • It stores only the latest snapshot per competitor for change tracking, overwritten on each new run; you can ask for deletion.
  • Briefs are for ideas only, not legal, financial or business advice, with no warranty of accuracy.
  • RivalBrief.ai is a different product from rivalbrief.co, a separate French service with its own pricing; check the domain before you pay.
  • Legitimacy signals we found: a published imprint naming LIBERTAS Treuhand GmbH in Hünenberg, Switzerland (in the Swiss commercial register since 2017), Stripe checkout, a public partner program with clear rules, and public sample briefs; no outside reviews yet.

Who it’s best for

Solo founders who want a quick read on a rival.

  • Solo founders and indie hackers checking a rival's pricing or positioning before changing their own.
  • Small product marketers who need a fast competitor snapshot, not an agency retainer.
  • Anyone who wants to re-check a competitor's prices and see what changed since last time.

Who should skip it

  • Probably not the best fit for enterprise competitive-intelligence teams, due diligence, or anyone who needs verified, human-researched facts.
