- Free membership: 100 Trip Coins are worth about $1 off a later booking. You earn 50 Trip Coins per $100 on hotels and 20 per $100 on flights, and higher tiers earn 20% to 200% more (official site, checked November 1, 2026).

What we like
- Wide range: hotels, homes, flights, trains, car rentals, airport transfers and tours.
- Free Trip Coins on most bookings, usable on hotels, flights, trains and car rentals.
- Hotel price match on eligible bookings marked with the price match label.
- 24/7 support by chat or phone.
What to watch out for
- Price match refunds come as Trip Coins, not cash, and only after your stay.
- Trip Coins from bookings expire after 18 months.
- Bookings made by phone with support and some promotional bookings don’t earn Trip Coins.
The fine print
- Price match: the lower price must be for the identical room, dates, bed, breakfast and cancellation policy; submit it by midnight local time the day before check-in. The limit is $1,500 per booking.
- If a confirmed hotel can’t give you a room, Trip.com says it will find one of the same standard nearby and pay the difference, up to the first night’s rate.
- Each hotel’s own terms also apply to your booking.
- Prices are in USD on the U.S. site.
- Legitimacy signals we found: part of Trip.com Group, published terms and service guarantee, and 24/7 support.
Who it’s best for
Travelers who book hotels, flights and trains, especially in Asia.
- Travelers who want hotels, flights, trains and tours in one app.
- People traveling in Asia, where it sells train tickets in China, Japan, South Korea and other countries.
Who should skip it
- Not for anyone who wants rewards they can take as cash.
The main alternative
Expedia Checked by Vetteroo
Expedia is the big U.S. alternative, with hotels, flights, cars and One Key rewards shared with Hotels.com and Vrbo. Booking.com is the other large option, especially for hotels and apartments.
