What it is
AI design tool that generates an endless scroll of website and app interface designs from a prompt
How it works
Type what you want (say, a pricing page for a coffee app) and scroll as Variant keeps generating new versions. Save the ones you like to a board and export the code.
Seen on Variant’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read November 1, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Variant ourselves.

What we like
- Real free plan with 300 fast designs a month.
- Scroll through endless variations of a design idea.
- Exports HTML or React code.
- A Business plan for teams that need more.
What to watch out for
- No point-and-edit tools; you steer it with prompts.
- No Figma export, per outside reviews.
- Free-plan designs are public.
- Pro pricing is only shown inside the app.
The fine print
- Free designs are visible to others; paid plans are needed for private work.
- AI designs can look polished but still need checking for usability and accessibility.
- Legitimacy signals we found: a working public product, and outside hands-on reviews from UX Magic and Banani.
Who it’s best for
Designers and founders who want lots of UI ideas fast.
- Founders and product teams exploring how a website or app screen could look.
- Designers who want many visual directions before picking one.
Who should skip it
- Not a full design tool: there is no point-and-edit editor.
- Not for private client work on the free plan, since free designs are public.
The main alternative
Pick Variant if you…
- want many visual directions fast.
- want HTML or React code.
- are happy steering by prompt.
Pick UX Pilot if you…
- want wireframes and multi-screen flows.
- work in Figma.
- want more editing control.
Our take
Variant is a fun, fast way to explore what a screen could look like, and the free plan is generous, but it is an idea generator rather than a design editor, so expect to finish the work elsewhere.
