What it is

Open-source visual website builder and CMS with an AI agent, available as managed Ycode Cloud or free to self-host

How it works

Build pages on a visual canvas, or ask the AI agent for a section or a full landing page and then adjust every layer by hand. Content lives in CMS collections, and you publish to your own domain on Ycode Cloud or your own hosting.

Seen on Ycode’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read November 1, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Ycode ourselves.

Key features

  • Visual canvas editor
  • AI agent with editable output
  • CMS collections
  • Multiple languages
  • Form entries
  • Custom domains with SSL and global CDN on Cloud

Setup & learning curve

Start on Cloud Free with no card, or fork the GitHub repository, deploy to Vercel and connect Supabase to self-host.

Integrations

Bring-your-own AI keys from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini or xAI; self-hosting runs on Vercel and Supabase.

Support

Documentation, a Discord community and release notes on GitHub.

Real-world use cases

  • A small-business marketing site
  • Client sites built by a design agency
  • A multilingual landing page
  • Moving off Webflow to cut costs

What it costs

Free; Cloud Basic $10/mo billed yearly ($15 monthly), checked November 1, 2026

Prices checked November 1, 2026, from Ycode’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • Cloud Free: $0, 500 one-time AI credits, no custom domain; an inactive project is deleted after 10 days.
  • Cloud Basic: $15 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly ($120 a year): custom domain, 5 CMS collections, 2 languages, 1,000 AI credits a month.
  • Cloud Pro: $30 a month, or $25 a month billed yearly ($300 a year): 50 CMS collections, unlimited languages, 3,000 AI credits a month.
  • Open source: free to self-host; the AI agent then runs on your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini or xAI key.
  • AI credit packs from $5 for 1,000 credits; prices exclude VAT or sales tax (official site, checked November 1, 2026).

What we like

  • Real open source under the MIT license, so you can self-host and move your site.
  • Low Cloud prices: $10 a month billed yearly for a custom domain, hosting, SSL and a global CDN.
  • AI agent output lands as normal, editable layers on the canvas rather than locked code.
  • Bring your own AI key and the agent uses no Ycode credits.
  • Every plan includes AI credits, and the free plan needs no card.

What to watch out for

  • The open-source project is young (its public repository dates from February 2026), with a smaller community than Webflow or WordPress.
  • Self-hosting means running Vercel and Supabase yourself and applying updates.
  • Monthly AI credits do not roll over.
  • Cloud Basic is limited to 5 CMS collections and 2 languages.

The fine print

  • Ycode, Inc. is a Delaware corporation with a New York address; its data processing addendum follows EU rules.
  • You can cancel your account at any time, but cancelling deletes all data tied to the account, so export first.
  • Ycode may change or end its services and its terms without notice, per its terms of use.
  • Credit packs stay valid for 12 months and are used after your monthly credits run out.
  • Legitimacy signals we found: published terms and a data processing addendum, a public GitHub repository and release notes, docs and an active Discord community.

Who it’s best for

Designers and small teams who want a Webflow-style builder they can self-host.

  • Designers and agencies who want a visual, Webflow-style canvas without platform lock-in.
  • Small businesses that want a CMS-driven site with managed hosting at a low monthly price.
  • Developers who want to self-host an MIT-licensed builder on their own infrastructure.

Who should skip it

  • Not ideal yet for large, high-traffic sites that need a long track record; the open-source release is still early.

Pick Ycode if you…

  • want to be able to self-host your site.
  • want a lower monthly price for a CMS site.
  • want AI help that stays editable on the canvas.

Pick Webflow if you…

  • need a mature platform with a long track record.
  • want built-in ecommerce plans.
  • rely on a big template marketplace and many experienced freelancers.

Our take

Ycode is a credible, low-cost Webflow alternative whose open-source license lets you take your site with you, but the self-hosted version is still young, so start on Cloud and treat self-hosting as an option for later.
