We researched Airalo's official pricing, plan terms, product pages, help documentation and Trustpilot profile. We haven't used Airalo ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.

Who it’s best for

Travelers who want mobile data abroad without roaming charges.
People visiting several countries who want one regional eSIM.
Business travelers who want data set up before landing.

Who should skip it

Probably not the best fit if you need a local phone number for calls and texts, or unlimited data.

How it works day to day

This part draws on Airalo’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 28, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Airalo ourselves.

Before a trip, you buy an eSIM in the app, install it, and turn it on when you land; you can check data left and top up in the app.

Key features in use

Local, regional and global eSIMs.
In-app install.
Top-ups.
Data usage tracking.
Airmoney credit.

Setup and learning curve

You check that your phone supports eSIM, buy a plan, install it, and switch to it on arrival.

Integrations

Airalo works on eSIM-capable iPhones, Android phones and tablets.

Support

Airalo offers 24/7 live chat support in the app.

Real-world use cases

A traveler gets data for a week in London.
A backpacker covers several European countries.
A business traveler avoids roaming fees.

What it costs

Prices checked October 28, 2026, from Airalo’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

United Kingdom eSIMs: from $4.00 up to $69, depending on data and days.
EU + UK regional eSIM: from $4. Europe regional: from $5. Global: from $8.50.
Plans are prepaid data packages with a set amount of data and a set number of days.
You can withdraw within 14 days if the eSIM has not been installed. If service fails, Airalo offers a refund or replacement when reported within 30 days. Wrong purchases may be refunded as Airmoney credit.

What we like

Trustpilot showed 4.2 out of 5 from about 48,858 reviews as of October 28, 2026.
Low starting prices and many countries and regions.
Easy setup in the app before you travel.
Top-ups in the app.
Refund within 14 days if not installed.

What to watch for

Most plans are data only, with no phone number.
Data plans have caps, so heavy users may need top-ups.
Your phone must be unlocked and support eSIM.

The fine print

Some refunds are paid as Airmoney credit rather than money back.
Service problems must be reported within 30 days.
Prices are in US dollars before tax.
