We researched AirHelp's official pricing, plan terms, product pages, help documentation and Trustpilot profile. We haven't used AirHelp ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.
Who it’s best for
- Travelers whose flight was delayed, cancelled or overbooked.
- People who don't want to chase an airline themselves.
- Frequent flyers who might prefer a yearly membership.
Who should skip it
- Probably not the best fit if your claim is simple and the airline pays quickly, where claiming directly keeps 100%.
How it works day to day
This part draws on AirHelp’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 29, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used AirHelp ourselves.

- AirHelp+ membership: from $179.99 a year ($14.99 a month billed yearly), with no fee deducted from compensation; a higher tier is $249.99 a year.
- AirHelp+ benefits need your flights added at least 48 hours before departure.
What we like
- Trustpilot showed 4.5 out of 5 from about 245,700 reviews as of October 29, 2026.
- Nothing to pay if the claim fails.
- AirHelp says it covers legal costs win or lose.
- Membership option with no fee deducted.
What to watch for
- A 35% fee is a large share of your compensation.
- Legal cases add a further fee, per an independent comparison.
- AirHelp+ only covers flights added before departure.
The fine print
- You can claim from the airline yourself for free.
- Compensation depends on the law that covers your flight, such as EU261.
- AirHelp+ is a yearly membership; check what each tier covers.
The main alternative: Compensair
Compensair is another no-win, no-fee claims service. Its payment policy sets a 35% service fee, with a possible extra 10% legal fee.
What it costs: No win, no fee: 35% of compensation, plus a possible 10% legal fee, checked October 29, 2026
Pick AirHelpReviewed by Vetteroo if you…
- want someone else to handle the claim.
- had an airline refuse your claim.
- fly often and want a membership.
Pick Compensair if you…
- want a smaller extra fee if the case goes legal.
- are claiming under EU rules.
Our take
AirHelp is the best-known flight compensation service, with a huge base of positive reviews and nothing to pay if it loses. Its 35% fee is steep, and you can always claim directly first. Compare Compensair if you expect legal action.
