Who it’s best for
- Small businesses making short social and marketing videos from templates.
- Photographers and families making slideshow videos.
- Beginners who want drag-and-drop editing, not a timeline editor.
Who should skip it
- Probably not the best fit if you want AI to write and assemble whole videos from a prompt, where InVideo goes further.

What it costs
Prices checked October 28, 2026, from Animoto’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.
- Free: 720p video with an Animoto watermark.
- Basic: $9 a month billed yearly ($108 a year), or $19 billed monthly. Professional: $19 a month billed yearly ($228), or $29 monthly. Professional Plus (3 users): $39 a month billed yearly ($468), or $79 monthly.
- Animoto's pricing page didn't show plan prices to our checker on October 28, 2026, so the prices above come from independent price trackers (Videomake and Costbench, both checked September 2026).
- Current promo (as of October 28, 2026): Animoto's page advertised 31% off yearly Professional and Professional Plus plans until November 3. Regular prices are listed above.
- Paying yearly saves up to 50%, by Animoto's count.
What we like
- Simple drag-and-drop templates.
- Getty Images stock library on higher plans.
- Free plan to try it.
- Professional Plus includes 3 users and a license to resell videos to businesses.
What to watch for
- Trustpilot showed 3.8 out of 5 from about 1,100 reviews as of October 28, 2026.
- The free plan exports at 720p with a watermark.
- Monthly billing costs far more than yearly on Basic and Professional Plus.
The fine print
- Animoto's page didn't display prices to us, so check the price at checkout.
- Only Professional Plus includes a license to resell videos to businesses, per Animoto's plan comparison.
- Saved brands and templates are capped by plan.
