What it costs
Prices checked October 30, 2026, from AVG’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.
- AVG AntiVirus Free costs nothing; AVG Internet Security was $39.99 for the first year for 1 PC or Mac (renews at $79.99) and $59.99 for the first year for 10 devices (renews at $109.99); AVG Ultimate for 10 devices was $59.88 for the first year (renews at $149.99) (official site, checked October 30, 2026).
- First-year prices are introductory; plans renew at the higher price.
What we like
- Trustpilot showed 4.5 out of 5 from about 48,964 reviews as of October 30, 2026.
- Free tier available.
- 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans.
- Ultimate bundles VPN, TuneUp and AntiTrack.
What to watch for
- FTC order (2024): Avast, AVG's parent, was found by the FTC to have sold browsing data collected through its software, including the AVG Online Security extension, after promising privacy; it paid $16.5 million and is banned from selling browsing data for ads.
- Introductory prices roughly double at renewal.
- Paid plans renew automatically.
The fine print
- First-year prices only; check the renewal price.
- Turn off auto-renew in your account if you do not want it.
- See AVG's settlement page for the FTC case details.

Our take
AVG offers a free antivirus and low first-year prices, but its parent was hit with a 2024 FTC order over selling browsing data despite privacy promises, so weigh that and the renewal price before you buy.
