We researched Colossyan's official pricing and terms, plus independent reviews and customer feedback. We haven't used Colossyan ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.

Who it’s best for

  • Learning and HR teams turning documents and scripts into training videos.
  • Teams that want quizzes, branching scenarios or SCORM exports for a learning system.

Who should skip it

  • Probably not the best fit for social media content or highly emotional brand videos.

How it works day to day

This part draws on Colossyan’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 26, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Colossyan ourselves.

Colossyan is built around turning material you already have into training. You upload a PowerPoint (speaker notes included), a PDF, a Word or Google Doc, a web page or a script, and its AI assistant, Cora, writes a scene-by-scene plan that cites the source line each scene came from. You edit the narration, reorder or regenerate individual scenes, then render with an avatar, voice and your brand kit.

Key features in use

  • PowerPoint to video: import a deck as editable scenes, or let Colossyan rebuild it with video pacing.
  • Interactive video: clickable buttons, links, scene-to-scene navigation, in-video quizzes and branching scenarios.
  • SCORM export (1.2 or 2004) so an LMS can track completion and quiz scores; captions export as SRT or VTT.
  • Viewer analytics on clicks, completions and quiz results.
  • Colossyan Learn, a separate course builder that generates lessons and assessments and exports a whole course as one SCORM package.

Setup and learning curve

Colossyan says no instructional-design experience is needed to get from a source document to a first version of a course. Because each scene points back to the source slide or paragraph, reviewing the first version is mostly checking and editing rather than writing from scratch. Interactive features and SCORM settings (completion on start or end, pass marks) take a little more learning.

Integrations

Exports work with any SCORM-compliant LMS. Colossyan says customers use it with Cornerstone, Docebo, Moodle, SAP Litmos, TalentLMS, Canvas, 360Learning and Workday Learning. Finished videos also download as MP4 files (up to 1080p) or share by hosted link.

Support

Colossyan's site offers product guides for each feature and a sales and L&D specialist contact for larger teams.

Real-world use cases

  • An HR team turns a policy handbook into a short onboarding video with a quiz at the end.
  • A compliance trainer builds a branching scenario where employees choose how to respond and see the outcome.
  • A training team exports a SCORM package to its existing LMS so completions show up in its usual reports.

What it costs

Prices checked October 25, 2026, from Colossyan’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • Starter: free, no card needed. 20 minutes of video a month with its NEO engine, one editor, with a watermark.
  • Professional: $59 a month billed yearly, or $89 monthly. 30 NEO minutes plus 10 NEO2 minutes a month, up to 3 editors (each extra editor $30 a month on yearly billing), 5 SCORM exports a month, no watermark.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing.

What we like

  • The free plan is genuinely usable for testing, with 20 minutes a month.
  • Built for training: interactive videos, quizzes and SCORM export.
  • G2 showed 4.6 out of 5 from about 495 reviews as of October 25, 2026, according to an independent ratings summary.
  • Enterprise is SOC 2 Type II compliant, per Colossyan.

What to watch for

  • A mid-2026 plan change capped minutes on Professional at 30 NEO minutes a month; before that, the paid plans had unlimited NEO minutes.
  • Reviewers mention avatar mouth and hand movements that aren't fully lifelike.
  • Some reviewers call it expensive, and one enterprise customer described stability glitches.
  • Trustpilot had too few reviews (9) as of October 25, 2026 to say much.

The fine print

  • The 14-day trial falls back to the free Starter plan if you don't pay.
  • "Unlimited" Enterprise minutes are capped at four hours of video generation per day in the terms.
  • Yearly billing is about a third cheaper than monthly.

The main alternative: Synthesia

Synthesia is the best-known avatar video tool for company training and how-to videos in many languages. It has a free plan. Minutes per month are capped, and some reviewers find its avatars stiffer than a real presenter.

What it costs: Free plan; Starter $14/mo billed yearly, checked October 26, 2026

Pick Colossyan if you…

  • build training courses and need interactivity or SCORM files for a learning system.
  • want a free plan with real monthly minutes to start.

Pick Synthesia if you…

  • want the cheapest paid entry for simple how-to videos.
  • want the biggest, best-known name in avatar training video.

Our take

Colossyan makes sense for training teams that need quizzes, branching and SCORM exports, and its free plan is a fair way to test it. Watch the new minute caps on Professional. For simple how-to videos on a small budget, Synthesia's starter plan costs less.
