We researched DeleteMe's pricing, refund and renewal terms, independent testing by Consumer Reports, and customer reviews. We haven't used the service ourselves, so this is research-based.

Who it’s best for

  • People who want their address, phone number and relatives taken off people-search sites, without filing dozens of opt-outs by hand.
  • People who want ongoing removal, since listings often come back.
  • If you have time and a tight budget, doing opt-outs yourself is free and tested well (see below).

What it costs

Prices checked October 23, 2026, from DeleteMe’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • 1 person: $10.75 a month billed yearly (about $129 a year), or $209 for 2 years.
  • 2 people: $19.08 a month billed yearly, or $349 for 2 years.
  • Family (4 people): $27.42 a month billed yearly, or $499 for 2 years.
  • There's also a higher-priced Premium plan.

What we like

  • In business since 2011, run by Abine, Inc.
  • Quarterly privacy reports show what was found and removed.
  • Human privacy experts plus custom removal requests for sites outside the standard list.
  • Email, chat and phone support, plus email and phone masking tools, on its standard plans.
  • Many Trustpilot reviewers say it's easy and they like the progress updates.

What to watch for

  • Independent testing found real limits. In a Consumer Reports study published in 2024, DeleteMe removed about 27% of the test profiles over four months. Manual opt-outs did best, at about 70%.
  • Trustpilot: 3.6 out of 5 from 263 reviews, with mixed comments about results and the subscription.
  • It costs more than the cheapest automated plans, like Optery's $39-a-year Core plan.
  • It can't erase everything. Public records and many Google results stay up.

The fine print

  • Plans renew automatically. Turn off auto-renew in your account's billing settings.
  • Refunds: full if you cancel before your first privacy report, prorated after that.
  • The '100% satisfaction guarantee' is governed by that refund policy.

The main alternative: Optery

In the same Consumer Reports study it removed about 68% of the test profiles over four months, the best of the paid services (DeleteMe: about 27%). It has a 30-day money-back guarantee.

What it costs: Free scan; Core $39/yr; Ultimate $249/yr, checked October 24, 2026

Pick DeleteMe if you…

  • want to reach a person by phone or chat, not just email. Optery's support is by email.
  • want custom removal requests and human help without paying for a top plan. They're in DeleteMe's 1-person plan at about $129 a year; at Optery they come with Ultimate at $249 a year.
  • want old names, aliases and extra email addresses covered, plus email and phone masking, on the standard plan.

Pick Optery if you…

  • care most about results. Optery removed far more test profiles than DeleteMe in Consumer Reports' 2024 study.
  • want the lowest price. Optery Core is $39 a year for automated removals.
  • want to see where you show up before paying. Optery has a free basic plan.

Our take

DeleteMe can save you a lot of tedious opt-out work. Its standard plan bundles human help, custom removals and phone support for about half the price of Optery's top plan. Be clear-eyed, though: in Consumer Reports' 2024 test, Optery removed far more listings, and its cheapest plan costs much less, so for many people who mainly want results, Optery is the stronger pick. DeleteMe fits best if you value human support and the extras. No service removes everything, so consider doing the biggest people-search sites yourself too.
