We researched Holafly's official pricing, plan terms, product pages, help documentation and Trustpilot profile. We haven't used Holafly ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.

Who it’s best for

  • Travelers who stream, map and upload a lot and don't want to track data.
  • People visiting several European countries on one trip.
  • Travelers who want a long refund window if plans change.

Who should skip it

  • Probably not the best fit if you need a phone number, share data with other devices often, or use little data, where a small fixed-data eSIM costs less.

How it works day to day

This part draws on Holafly’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 28, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Holafly ourselves.

Before you leave, you buy a plan for your destination and dates, scan the QR code to install the eSIM, and switch it on when you land.

Key features in use

  • Unlimited-data eSIM plans.
  • Regional and single-country plans.
  • Plans from 1 to 90 days.
  • Limited hotspot sharing (1 GB a day).
  • "Always On" backup data option.

Setup and learning curve

You check that your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM, buy a plan, install it by QR code, and turn on data roaming for the eSIM.

Integrations

Works with eSIM-compatible iPhones, Android phones and some tablets.

Support

Holafly offers chat support and a help center.

Real-world use cases

  • A couple uses maps and streaming across a two-week Europe trip.
  • A remote worker needs steady data for a month abroad.
  • A student traveling between countries avoids top-ups.

What it costs

Prices checked October 28, 2026, from Holafly’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • Europe unlimited data: 3 days $11.90, 5 days $20.50, 7 days $27.50, 10 days $37.50, 15 days $51.50, 30 days $76.50.
  • Plans run from 1 to 90 days. The Europe plan covers 33 countries.
  • Data only, with no local phone number. Hotspot sharing is limited to 1 GB a day.
  • Holafly says you can ask for a refund up to 6 months after purchase for reasons such as a change of plans, an incompatible device or connection problems.

What we like

  • Unlimited data plans, so no top-ups mid-trip.
  • Flexible lengths from 1 to 90 days.
  • Long refund request window: up to 6 months after purchase (conditions apply).
  • Trustpilot showed 4.7 out of 5 from about 117,000 reviews as of October 28, 2026.
  • Simple QR-code install before you leave.

What to watch for

  • Data only: no phone number for calls or texts.
  • Hotspot sharing is limited to 1 GB a day.
  • A fair-usage policy may slow speeds for up to a day after very heavy use.
  • Costs more than fixed-data eSIMs for light users.

The fine print

  • Holafly eSIMs are not for use in your home country, including inside the EU for EU residents.
  • An eSIM can't be reinstalled once deleted, so don't remove it mid-trip.
  • Your phone must be unlocked and eSIM-compatible.

The main alternative: Airalo Reviewed by Vetteroo

Airalo sells fixed-data eSIMs (for example 1 GB, 5 GB or 10 GB) in more than 200 places. For light and moderate users it usually costs less.

What it costs: From $4.00 (UK); Europe from $5, checked October 28, 2026

Our take

Holafly is the easy choice if you want unlimited data and don't want to think about gigabytes. It's data only, hotspot sharing is capped, and light users pay more than they need to. If you use little data, Airalo is usually cheaper.
