What it costs
Prices checked October 31, 2026, from Match’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.
- Free to create a profile and browse; messaging needs a paid plan. DatingScout listed US Standard plans at $34.45, $24.48 and $21.84 a month for 3, 6 and 12 months, and Premium at $40.41, $26.51 and $23.11 a month (checked October 30, 2026).
- Match charges the whole plan up front and plans renew automatically, per its help center. Its terms send App Store refund requests to Apple; other refunds are handled by Match.
What we like
- Very large, long-running member base.
- Search filters plus daily picks.
- Free profile to try it first.
- The App Store showed 3.87 out of 5 from 243,811 ratings as of October 30, 2026.
What to watch for
- In 2025 Match Group paid $14 million to settle FTC charges about Match.com's guarantee, cancellation and billing practices.
- Full plan cost is charged up front.
- Plans auto-renew.
- Messaging needs a paid plan.
The fine print
- You must be 18 or older to join.
- Turn off auto-renewal in Settings if you only want one term.
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto to anyone you meet online.
The main alternative: eharmony Checked by Vetteroo
eharmony is a long-running site that matches by questionnaire.
What it costs: Free Basic; Premium about $29–$69/mo by term, checked October 30, 2026
Pick Match if you…
- want to search members yourself.
- want 3-month plans.
- want events.
Pick eharmony if you…
- want guided matching.
- want a questionnaire.
- want 24-month pricing.
Our take
Match is one of the biggest names in online dating with a large pool and plenty of search tools, but its billing record led to an FTC settlement, so read the plan terms and switch off auto-renewal if you only want one term.
