We researched monday.com's official pricing and terms, plus independent reviews and customer feedback. We haven't used monday.com ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.
Who it’s best for
- Teams that want colorful, easy boards for projects, sales or operations.
- Non-technical teams who need to get started quickly.
Who should skip it
- Probably not the best fit for a 1 or 2 person team on a tight budget.
How it works day to day
This part draws on monday.com’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 26, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used monday.com ourselves.
Work in monday.com lives on boards: each row is an item (a task, deal or request), grouped into sections, with columns for owner, status, dates and anything else you track. You can view the same board as a table, Kanban board, timeline, calendar, chart or form, and roll several boards into a dashboard. Automations take routine updates off your plate, such as notifying someone when a status changes.
Key features in use
- Boards with customizable columns and many views (Kanban, timeline, calendar, chart, map, form).
- Dashboards that report across several boards.
- Automations built from triggers, conditions and actions, such as "when status changes to Done, notify the manager".
- A large template library for projects, sales pipelines, content calendars and operations.
Setup and learning curve
monday.com recommends starting from a template and adjusting columns to fit. Its color-coded boards are why reviewers call it easy to learn (noted above). For more structured learning, monday academy has lessons, learning paths, certifications and webinars.
Integrations
monday.com connects with tools such as Slack, Gmail, Outlook and Google Calendar through its integrations center, and offers more through its app marketplace.
Support
monday.com offers 24/7 support, a searchable knowledge base and monday academy training.
Real-world use cases
- A marketing team runs a content calendar with a timeline view and approval statuses.
- A small sales team tracks deals on a board, with automations for follow-ups.
- An operations team handles requests submitted through a monday form.
What it costs
Prices checked October 25, 2026, from monday.com’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.
- Free: up to 2 seats.
- Basic: $9 per seat a month billed yearly.
- Standard: $12 per seat a month billed yearly.
- Pro: $19 per seat a month billed yearly.
- Paid plans start at 3 seats.
- Yearly billing saves 18%.
What we like
- Easy to learn, with flexible boards.
- G2 showed 4.7 out of 5 from more than 13,000 reviews as of October 26, 2026.
What to watch for
- Seats are sold in buckets (3, 5, 10 and up), so a 4-person team pays for 5.
- Per-seat pricing adds up as the team grows.
The fine print
- The minimum paid purchase is 3 seats.
The main alternative: ClickUp
ClickUp puts tasks, docs, goals and chat in one app, with a generous free plan. It has so many features that it can feel overwhelming, and some reviews mention slowness.
What it costs: $9/user/mo (Core) billed yearly, checked October 26, 2026

Our take
monday.com is one of the easiest project tools to roll out to a team. Watch the seat buckets, which can make you pay for unused seats. ClickUp costs less per user and has a bigger free plan.
