What it is
One-time-purchase AI workspace on its own cloud server: a shared AI business brain for your team and AI agents, plus a unified inbox or SEO tool
How it works
Add your company brief, priorities and key files to the shared brain from the dashboard or your phone. Connected AI agents read them through your Ownbox's own MCP server, and in the Unified Inbox each incoming message gets an AI-drafted reply that you review, edit and send.
Seen on Ownbox’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read November 1, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Ownbox ourselves.
Key features
- Shared AI business brain with passage-level search
- Business dashboard with team access
- Unified Inbox for Gmail, IMAP email, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp
- SEO Machine with Google Search Console connection
- Dedicated MCP server for AI agents
- Phone home-screen app for iPhone and Android
Setup & learning curve
Choose Core or Pro and one Machine; Ownbox deploys your server and emails access details in about five minutes. Then sign in with a supported AI account and connect the services your Machine needs. No coding needed.
Integrations
Claude and ChatGPT accounts (or an Anthropic API key), Gmail and other IMAP email, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Google Search Console, and other agents that support MCP.
Support
Managed Support for the first 90 days (then paid), with direct contact with the founder; Pro adds priority support.
Real-world use cases
- Giving every AI agent the same company brief
- Answering customer DMs and emails with approved AI-written text
- Publishing answers to common customer questions for search
- An agency keeping client briefs in one place
What it costs
Core $799 once, then $99/mo after 90 days, checked November 1, 2026
Prices checked November 1, 2026, from Ownbox’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.
- Ownbox Core: $799 once, for up to 3 people, 5 GB, with one Machine (Unified Inbox or SEO Machine, free for a limited time; $299 each later).
- Ownbox Pro: listed at $1,599 once on its home page and $1,899 on another page; unlimited people, 15 GB and both Machines.
- Managed Support: free for 90 days, then $99 a month for Core or $199 a month for Pro unless cancelled.
- Your AI: a Claude Pro or Max plan or a ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Business plan (or an Anthropic API key), billed by that provider.
- Self-hosting on your own DigitalOcean account instead costs about $12 a month, paid to DigitalOcean (official site, checked November 1, 2026).

What we like
- One-time software price, and you can move it to your own DigitalOcean account from 30 days after purchase.
- Each Ownbox runs on its own cloud server, separate from other customers.
- AI agents read inside PDFs, Word and Excel files, and anything they want to save waits for a person to approve.
- Agents cannot delete, move or rename your files; deleted files wait 30 days and you can export everything.
- Works with the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already have, through its own MCP server.
What to watch out for
- Brand new, from a very small company, with almost no outside reviews.
- Managed Support costs $99 a month after 90 days, so the one-time price is not the full cost.
- You must also pay for a supported Claude or ChatGPT plan.
- Pro is listed at two different prices on its own site.
- The inbox does not cover phone calls, SMS, Outlook or Microsoft 365, and Gemini and Grok support is only planned.
The fine print
- Ownbox is made and sold by AIBM Inc. of Newport Beach, California.
- The software license lets you run it for your own business; it cannot be resold or passed on.
- If you cancel Managed Support, your Ownbox keeps running for 30 days; then it is moved to your own DigitalOcean account with you or powered off and kept until you claim it or ask for deletion. Updates and support end.
- It promises a full refund if your Ownbox is not up within a day of paying; we did not find a broader refund window on its site.
- The SEO Machine does not guarantee search rankings, AI citations or leads, and it publishes on its own schedule once switched on.
- Legitimacy signals we found: a named company and founder, public pricing and Managed Support terms; the product is too new for independent reviews.
Who it’s best for
Small businesses and agencies wanting an AI workspace they own (see our warning).
- Small businesses and marketing agencies that already pay for Claude or ChatGPT and want their AI agents to share one source of company knowledge.
- Owners who want customer email, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp messages in one inbox with AI-drafted replies they approve.
- Buyers who prefer a one-time purchase and the option to move the software to their own server.
Who should skip it
- Not for teams on Outlook or Microsoft 365, which the inbox does not support.
- Probably not for you if you want a proven product with a long track record.
The main alternative
Pick Ownbox if you…
- want your AI agents and team working from one shared company knowledge base.
- prefer paying once for software you can move to your own server.
- already pay for Claude or ChatGPT.
Pick Chatwoot if you…
- mainly need a shared support inbox for a team.
- want a free or per-agent monthly plan instead of a large upfront cost.
- want a product with a long track record.
Our take
Ownbox is an interesting take on owning your AI workspace, with careful approval controls, but it is brand new and the real cost includes $99 a month after 90 days plus your AI plan, so talk to the founder and confirm the full price before you pay $799.
