Who it’s best for

  • Small businesses and home sellers shipping with USPS.
  • Offices that send Certified Mail.
  • Teams that want several users on one account.

Who should skip it

  • Probably not the best fit if you want label software with no fees at all, where Pirate Ship charges nothing on top of postage.

What it costs

Prices checked October 29, 2026, from PitneyShip’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • Pay as you go: $0 a month, with a 5% fee on each printed label. One user and one location.
  • Premium: $34.99 a month after a 30-day trial. Up to 10 users, one location, and up to 50 Certified Mail pieces with electronic return receipts a month.
  • Enterprise: priced by quote.
  • All plans include discounted USPS rates; Pitney Bowes advertises savings of up to 88% off USPS Priority Mail retail.

What we like

  • Discounted USPS rates on every plan.
  • Free plan with no monthly fee.
  • Certified Mail tools on Premium.
  • Backed by Pitney Bowes, a long-running mailing company.

What to watch for

  • The 5% per-label fee on the free plan adds up.
  • PitneyShip has no Trustpilot profile of its own; the Pitney Bowes UK and Ireland profile showed 4.8 out of 5 from 7,493 reviews as of October 29, 2026, which does not reflect the US PitneyShip product.
  • Premium is limited to one location.

The fine print

  • The Premium trial becomes a $34.99 monthly charge unless cancelled.
  • Certified Mail limits apply each month.
  • Advertised savings compare with retail postage.

The main alternative: Pirate Ship

Pirate Ship is free label software: no monthly fee or markup, with discounted USPS and UPS rates; you pay only for postage. Trustpilot showed 4.7 out of 5 from 1,358 reviews as of October 29, 2026.

What it costs: $0 (pay only for postage), checked October 29, 2026

  • want several users.

Pick Pirate Ship if you…

Our take

PitneyShip is a solid way to get discounted USPS labels, with Certified Mail tools on Premium. The free plan's 5% label fee adds up, and Pirate Ship charges nothing beyond postage.
