We researched Riverside's official pricing, plan terms, product pages and help documentation. We haven't used Riverside ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.

Who it’s best for

  • Podcasters who record guests in different places.
  • Video creators who want each person recorded in high quality on their own device.
  • People who want editing, captions and clips in the same tool.

Who should skip it

  • Probably not the best fit if you mainly want to livestream to many platforms at once.

How it works day to day

This part draws on Riverside’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 26, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Riverside ourselves.

Day to day, you open a studio link, invite guests by link, and record. Each person’s audio and video is recorded on their own device and uploaded, then you edit by editing the transcript and make clips.

Key features in use

  • Local recording with separate audio and video tracks.
  • Text-based editor and automatic transcripts.
  • Captions and short clips for social media.
  • Live streaming to other platforms.
  • Webinar hosting on the Webinar plan.

Setup and learning curve

You create a free account, set up a studio, test your mic and camera, and send guests a link. Guests join from a browser or the mobile app with no account needed.

Integrations

Riverside can stream to YouTube, LinkedIn and others, and exports to common editing apps.

Support

Riverside has a help center, guides and email support, with more help on higher plans.

Real-world use cases

  • A podcaster records a guest in another state with separate tracks.
  • A creator records a video interview and cuts short clips.
  • A business runs a webinar on the Webinar plan.

What it costs

Prices checked October 26, 2026, from Riverside’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • Free: $0, with limited recording and watermarked exports.

  • Webinar: $79 a month billed annually ($948 a year), $99 billed monthly.

What we like

  • Records each person locally, so the audio and video do not depend on their internet connection.
  • Separate tracks for each guest make editing easier.
  • Built-in text-based editor, captions and short clip tools.
  • Free plan to try it.
  • 14-day free trial of paid plans.

What to watch for

  • Recording hours are capped each month on paid plans.
  • The free plan adds a watermark.
  • Monthly prices were not shown the same way in two places on the pricing page when we checked.

The fine print

  • Annual plans are billed for the year up front.
  • Recording hours are per month and tier.
  • Webinar and Business plans are priced separately.
