Who it’s best for

  • Hobbyists learning illustration, design, photography, video or crafts.
  • Creators and freelancers who want short, project-based lessons.
  • People who like trying many topics for one price.

Who should skip it

  • Probably not the best fit if you want accredited certificates or one deep course you keep, where single-course sites can be better.

How it works day to day

This part draws on Skillshare’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 28, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Skillshare ourselves.

Day to day, you browse classes, watch short video lessons, and share your class project with other learners.

Key features in use

  • Thousands of creative classes.
  • Project-based lessons.
  • Teams plans for companies.

Setup and learning curve

You start a trial with a card, pick interests, and start a class on the web or in the app.

Integrations

Skillshare works on the web and in its mobile apps.

Support

Skillshare offers a help center and contact form.

Real-world use cases

  • A beginner learns watercolor over a few weekends.
  • A freelancer picks up motion graphics basics.
  • A small team uses a Teams plan for design training.

What it costs

Prices checked October 28, 2026, from Skillshare’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.

  • Yearly membership: $167.88 a year, which works out to $13.99 a month, billed up front.
  • Monthly billing is offered through the Apple and Google app stores.
  • Prices vary by country.
  • New members can start with a free trial; a card is needed and the plan bills when the trial ends unless you cancel.

What we like

  • Thousands of classes for one yearly price.
  • Short lessons built around a hands-on project.
  • Trustpilot showed 4.0 out of 5 from about 4,200 reviews as of October 28, 2026.

What to watch for

  • The web plan is billed for a full year up front.
  • Class quality varies by teacher.
  • No accredited certificates.

The fine print

  • The free trial needs a card and turns into a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends.
  • Monthly plans are only sold through the app stores, so they follow Apple's or Google's billing rules.
  • Prices differ by country, so the price you see may differ from ours.

Pick SkillshareReviewed by Vetteroo if you…

  • want many creative classes for one price.
  • like learning by doing a project.
  • will use it often enough to justify a yearly plan.

Pick DomestikaReviewed by Vetteroo if you…

  • want to buy just one or two courses.
  • like polished, longer courses from known creatives.

Our take

Skillshare is good value if you'll take many creative classes over a year. Billing is yearly on the web, and the trial needs a card, so set a reminder. If you only want one or two courses, Domestika's one-off purchases may cost less.
