- Best for
- Text-first writers on X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon
- Price
- Free; Creator $99 a year

We researched Typefully's official pricing page, plan comparison, help-center articles on billing, refunds and cancellation. We haven't used Typefully ourselves, so this is a research-based review, not a hands-on test.
Who it’s best for
- Writers, founders and creators who mainly post text threads and posts on X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky or Mastodon.
- People who want a clean, distraction-free editor more than a busy social dashboard.
- Small marketing teams and agencies that draft together and want comments, approvals and Slack notifications.
Who should skip it
- Not a fit if you need Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or YouTube. Typefully doesn't publish there.
How it works day to day
This part draws on Typefully’s own product pages, help center and documentation, read October 28, 2026 (listed under Sources). We haven’t used Typefully ourselves.
Day to day, you write threads and posts in Typefully's editor, preview how they'll look on each network, queue them on your schedule, and check X analytics to see what landed.
Key features in use
- Distraction-free editor with previews per network.
- Scheduling and a queue for X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads and Mastodon.
- AI writing help: rewrites, suggestions and image descriptions (Creator and up).
- X analytics: metrics, profile conversion rate and posting streaks.
- Auto-plugs, LinkedIn first comment, PDF carousels, polls and a thread finisher.
- Team drafting with comments, approvals, roles and Slack notifications (Business).
- API and MCP access, plus Zapier and Raycast integrations.
Setup and learning curve
You sign up free, connect a social set (your accounts for one brand or person), and start writing. Upgrade to Creator or Business when you need more posts, analytics, AI or teammates.
Integrations
Typefully publishes to X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads and Mastodon, connects to Substack, and works with Zapier, Raycast, an API and MCP for AI assistants.
Support
Typefully has a help center and email support.
Real-world use cases
- A founder writes a weekly X thread and cross-posts it to LinkedIn.
- A newsletter writer promotes each Substack issue across text platforms.
- A small agency drafts client posts with approvals before they go out.
What it costs
Prices checked October 28, 2026, from Typefully’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.
- Free: $0. 1 social set, 1 user, 10 posts a month, limited media uploads.
- Creator: $99 a year (annual billing only). 1 social set, 1 user, X analytics, AI writing features, unlimited media.
- Business: $18 a month per social set billed yearly. Collaborative writing, comments and Slack notifications, teams and permissions, up to 50 social sets, unlimited users.
- Business on monthly billing: $20 a month per social set.
- Publishes to X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads and Mastodon, and connects to Substack.
- Refunds: Typefully's terms say fees are refundable if you ask within 14 days of the charge. After that, partial periods and unused time aren't refunded. Extra AI usage charges are non-refundable.
What we like
- Still publishes to X, plus Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads and Mastodon, and connects to Substack.
- A permanent free plan (1 social set, 10 posts a month), not just a trial.
- Creator is a flat $99 a year for one account, with X analytics, AI writing features and unlimited media.
- Team features on Business: collaborative writing, comments, Slack notifications, roles and permissions, unlimited users.
- Automation extras such as auto-plugs, a LinkedIn first comment, PDF carousels and a thread finisher.
- API and MCP access, plus integrations with Zapier and Raycast.
What to watch for
- No Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or YouTube publishing.
- Creator is annual billing only, so there's no monthly option for one account.
- The free plan stops at 10 posts a month.
- Business is priced per social set ($18 a month each billed yearly, $20 monthly), so cost climbs quickly for agencies with many clients.
- Analytics are built around X.
- Refunds only within 14 days of a charge. After that, partial periods and unused time aren't refunded, and extra AI usage charges are never refunded.
The fine print
- Cancelling doesn't trigger a refund on its own. You have to request one within 14 days of the charge.
- Cancelling an active trial removes paid features right away.
- After you cancel a paid plan, the account moves to the free plan and keeps your analytics and history, according to Typefully.
- Downgrades become an account credit, not cash back.
- Extra AI usage is billed separately from the plan and is non-refundable.
The main alternative: Hypefury Reviewed by Vetteroo
It adds Instagram auto-DMs and turns text posts into Instagram images. It no longer supports X, and it has no free plan. See our Hypefury review for the full picture.
What it costs: From $6 a month for one channel
Pick TypefullyReviewed by Vetteroo if you…
- post on X, or on LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon, and care most about writing.
- want a free plan, or a flat $99 a year for one account.
- write as a team and want comments, approvals and Slack notifications.
Pick HypefuryReviewed by Vetteroo if you…
- want Instagram or TikTok alongside your text platforms.
- want Instagram auto-DMs and automatic text-to-image posts.
- don't post on X.
Our take
Typefully is a focused, well-designed writing and scheduling tool for text-first creators, and it's one of the few that still publishes to X. The free plan is real, Creator is good value at $99 a year, and Business suits small teams. Its limits are just as clear: no Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, Creator is yearly only, Business gets pricey per social set, and refunds close after 14 days. If you need Instagram or TikTok and don't need X, Hypefury is the better fit.
