We researched NordPass's pricing page, terms of service and published security details, plus customer reviews and password-manager forum discussions. We haven't tested it ourselves, so this is research-based.
Who it’s best for
- People who want an easy, polished password manager for themselves or their family.
- Small teams that want shared passwords without an IT department.
- People who want open-source software, or the very best free plan, may prefer Bitwarden (see below).
What it costs
Prices checked October 23, 2026, from NordPass’s own pricing page unless noted. Prices change often, so check the official page before you buy.
- Premium (1 person): $1.39 a month on the 2-year plan, shown as $37.53 for the first 27 months. The listed regular price for that period is $80.73.
- Family (6 people): $2.49 a month on the 2-year plan, $67.23 for the first 27 months.
- Business: Teams $1.79 per user a month (10-user pack), Business $3.59 per user a month (5 users minimum), Enterprise $5.39 per user a month.
- Free plan: autosave, autofill and secure storage, but not access across multiple devices or breach scanning.
- Prices don't include sales tax or VAT. 30-day money-back guarantee.
What we like
- Uses modern encryption (xChaCha20) and a zero-knowledge design, so NordPass says it can't see your passwords.
- It has had independent security audits, starting with Cure53 in 2020.
- Trustpilot: 4.0 out of 5 from 2,075 reviews, with a lot of praise for helpful support and easy switching from other apps.
- Extras like password health, breach scanning, email masking and file attachments on paid plans.
What to watch for
- The low price is an intro price. Renewal is at the price at the time, which is likely higher.
- The app is closed source, which some security-minded users see as a drawback.
- Some Trustpilot reviewers mention login loops and autofill or browser extension problems.
- The free plan is limited compared with some rivals.
The fine print
- Plans renew automatically at the then-current price, per the terms. Cancel before renewal if you don't want it.
- The 30-day money-back guarantee covers the first purchase, not renewals (with a few country exceptions).
- The '+3 extra months' deals are promotions and can change.
The main alternative: 1Password
It's one of the best-known password managers. There's no free plan, but there's a 14-day free trial.
What it costs: $2.99/mo billed yearly in year one, then $3.99, checked October 26, 2026

Also worth knowing: If open source or a free plan that works on all your devices matters most, Bitwarden (official site) is worth a look. Premium is $19.80 a year.
Pick NordPass if you…
- want the lowest upfront price. $37.53 covers the first 27 months of NordPass Premium; 1Password Individual is about $36 for the first year alone.
- want a free plan to start with. 1Password has a free trial but no free plan.
- are covering a bigger family. NordPass Family covers 6 people for $2.49 a month on the 2-year plan; 1Password Families covers 5 for $4.49 a month in its first year.
- want breach scanning and email masking included with Premium.
Pick 1Password if you…
- want to know your price after the first year. 1Password lists it ($3.99 a month for Individual); NordPass renews at whatever its price is then.
- want the best price on a 1-year plan rather than a 2-year one.
- don't need a free plan and prefer a very well-known name, even if it costs more.
Our take
NordPass is a good pick if you want something simple that looks and works smoothly, and the intro price is lower than 1Password's. Check the renewal price before the first term ends. If you'd rather pay a known price each year, 1Password is the better-known option, but it costs more. If open source or a strong free plan matters most, compare it with Bitwarden first.
