This page is for small business owners, freelancers, creatives and anyone who wants a website without hiring a developer or managing hosting. A website builder bundles the design tools, hosting and security in one monthly price, so you can drag and drop a site together or let an AI builder draft one for you. If you want full control, lots of plugins, or a site you can move anywhere, WordPress on your own hosting may suit you better.
Think about what the site needs to do. A portfolio needs good galleries, a local business needs contact forms and maybe bookings, and a store needs checkout and payment fees you can live with. Check whether the free plan shows the builder's branding or uses a subdomain, how much the plan renews at, and whether you can connect your own domain. Moving off a builder later usually means rebuilding the site, so pick one you can grow with.
Prices we saw ran from free plans and about $7 a month to around $50 a month for business and store plans.
